Theodore West opened the Nisei Dojo in 1963 and was its Ju Jitsu instructor until 1974. He and others founded the Kyudan Jiu-Jitsu Federation in August, 1968. The KJJF is an umbrella organization of styles of Jiu Jitsu in the states of New York, Rhode Island, Maine, Florida and internationally in Ireland. The KJJF was headquartered in New York but now is now based out of Rhode Island. The NY area

school is the New Rochelle Institute of Combative Arts in New Rochelle, NY, which has been the Hombu (headquarter) dojo of Nisei Ju Jitsu since 1990. Nisei Ju Jitsu was passed down to Professor, Albert Dandridge in 2006 and then to Raymond A.
