😎How I Spent My Summer Vacation! We're ready to have a 10X summer at Martial Arts for Life. Our "Karate Kids" will be training hard, having fun and developing high performance habits all summer long! We'll be preparing them to crush it when they head back to school in September. We have a full staff of Black Belt instructors to mentor and help our students reach their goals and provide personalized attention in class.👊

🗣️In their own words...As we approached our 20th anniversary serving the local community, we wanted to check in with some of the students who trained with us as children and adolescents to see what they felt were the most valuable parts of their training at Martial Arts for Life.

Today, we have a video featuring Camden (a.k.a Mr. Cam) who trained at MAFL for 12 years! Growing up in Summit, NJ Cam went on to become a 3rd degree Black Belt and a lead instructor of our children's program. Cam shares what he took away from his training at MAFL as well as some fun memories.

Cam was such a great role model for our young students when he was here. He was undoubtedly one of the kids' favorite instructors. He had a great way of relating to young students almost like a big brother and we miss having him on the mats.

Bethany is now married and raising her two children in the Pacific Northwest.

🔥Stack the Odds in Your Favor

A while back, I had an old friend personal message me. He told me how his life seemed to be spiraling out of control. He had health issues, relationship issues, career issues...and the list kept going. He wanted my input as to how I thought he could get his life back on track because he was having a hard time finding his way on his own. While I appreciated his confidence in me, I've still got a long way to go before I figure it out myself. With that said, here is what I told him that I am working on.
I am trying to stack the odds in favor of success by doing as much right as I possibly can everyday. Here is a partial list:
🍎Eat clean
🏃‍♂️‍Exercise consistently
🤗Treat family and friends (and strangers for that matter) with respect and compassion.
🙏Forget about what the other guy or gal has, instead be grateful for what I have and am able to do.
💯Work hard, and smart.
👀Be as clear as I can as to where I want to go.
📈Stay productive. Nothing feels better than positive action towards a worthy goal.
🚀Finally, and most important.. cultivate the belief that the best years of life are still ahead.

🔥At MAFL, our students work together in class to help each other reach their respective goals. It's extremely important for kids (particularly adolescents) to have a positive peer group. This is in concert with instructors who genuinely care about not only their progress in the martial arts, but also their development and success as individuals in school, at home and in life.
