👍We want to take a moment to thank our amazing student leaders and instructors for all of their hard work over the last week.

In the span of one week, our team helped with our Pizza Social for 40+ students, represented MAFL at the NJ Sharing Network 5K, ran a tent (and performed) at the Berkeley Heights Block Party, helped with testing week, supported three belt graduations, and came in again for instructor training on Saturday.😮‍💨

That is a lot. And they handled it with energy, maturity, and a genuine desire to help others.👊

One of the things we are most proud of at Martial Arts for Life is watching students grow up in our school and then turn around to support the next generation. These young people are not just training for themselves anymore. They are learning how to lead, encourage, serve, and set an example.

Not everyone who helped this week is pictured here, but we are grateful for every one of them.

💚💙To all our Team MAFL supporters, we wanted to share a message from Alex Iuliano, Justin’s older brother:

"Thank you to everyone who came out and made the team over 100 members strong.

I wanted to thank everyone who participated in the NJ Sharing Network 5K. For the past four years, Martial Arts for Life has dedicated their team in Justin’s honor, and my family and I are incredibly grateful.

It means so much to us that Justin is still being honored and remembered this way.

My name is Alex Iuliano, Justin’s older brother. Justin and I started training at Martial Arts for Life back in 2006, when MAFL first opened. We both trained there for many years and earned our second-degree black belts.

Justin was a kind-hearted person. His last selfless act on earth was donating his organs so others may live.

Justin is deeply missed every day, but knowing that his organ donation touched so many lives, and that a part of him continues to live on, brings comfort to our family.

I also want to sincerely thank Mr. and Mrs. B, who without hesitation have dedicated Martial Arts for Life’s team in honor of Justin. They have always been there for us. They are the definition of family in their family-owned business, and I am grateful and thankful to them for everything they have done.

It was an AMAZING day at the NJ Sharing Network' s annual Celebration of Life 5K on Sunday. 💚💙

Team Martial Arts for Life was over 100 members strong this year, and together we raised $4,657 for the NJ Sharing Network Foundation.

We are so grateful to every student, parent, family member, friend, and supporter who came out to walk, run, donate, cheer, and help us honor the life and memory of our friend and student, Mr. Justin Iuliano.

This event has been special to us for many years, but since Justin’s passing it has taken on even greater meaning. We are proud to continue walking in his honor, supporting a life-saving cause, and keeping his memory alive with the people who loved him.

Thank you to everyone who helped make this such a beautiful day. 💚💙

🔥What a day on Springfield Avenue! A huge thank you to Chris and the Berkeley Heights Business & Civic organization for the opportunity to perform - and to our incredible students and instructors who showed up and absolutely delivered. Proud doesn't begin to cover it.

🙏Extra special thank you to Jim Skidmore for hooking up our audio, Mr. Chris Wang for finding us a time slot to perform and coordinating a great event, Bobbi Peer for all her hard work on Sunday, all our students, friends and neighbors who took time to watch the team and Anne S. for taking great video for us.

👏Exciting details from the event organizers:

With nearly 100 vendors and attractions expected, this year's event is shaping up to be the biggest yet. Younger children can bounce, climb & slide their way through the afternoon with a 22-foot slide, a castle moonwalk, an obstacle course and a trackless train ride. Older kids can level up inside the GameTruck, a mobile gaming experience with the latest video games.

🍕This year's food lineup is the strongest yet, with Bubbakoo's, Grain & Cane Food Truck, Pizza Vita, Blasted Lemonade, Woops Macarons, Grazi's Kitchen, Patria Station Cafe, Craft Bagel, Zita's and the Scream Truck all joining the festivities. New additions this year include Girly Pop Soda, Palm Thai, Milk Tea Boba and a Jamaican Food Truck.🇯🇲
