I know I made a cryptic post about 50k stolen. Now that I have time to process I am ready to share. I had a RV show my company was to be attending , Az in late January for 10 days. Well my driver carrying product broke down in San Antonio, Texas do to a EGR valve failure just after having the emissions system replaced due to recall from Mercedes. Mercedes wouldn’t allow our trailer to be parked on their premises. So we disconnected and parked it at the hotel. It took Mercedes 5 days to get the part leaving my guy stuck at the hotel. Mind you I said I would pay for it to be overnighted. At 4:55am the morning they finally fixed our sprinter van a Uhaul truck backed up snatched the trailer which was all caught on camera the thieves grabbed it, drove away unloaded it and left the trailer in the middle of the road. Only to be impounded by the police. Which to add insult to injury had to pay $500 bucks to get it out of impound. No it’s not covered by insurance (not connected to my Vehicle). Also Mercedes charged us $3300 dollars for the repair it wasn’t covered by warranty saying the engine gas regulator that handles emissions isn’t considered part of the emissions system. We lost product, tools, parts sales and customer confidence as we didn’t show up for customers expecting us. Needless to say it was a s**t day!!!! As I have had 5 sprinter vans over the years the way we were treated both by Mercedes-Benz of Sarasota and Mercedes-Benz of San Antonio. I will no longer be a customer of Mercedes Benz. The recall process was horrific taking a month for Sarasota Mercedes to get it right before our trip (which may have caused the vehicle to fail) and San Antonio’s blatant disregard for the urgency to get us rolling again. When I told Devin the service guy he said well the vehicle is ready and its $3500.00 no sorry or empathy (also Devin doesn’t return phone calls) the only good thing I can say is they gave us a military discount.
