There's been a lot of work being done, but I'm incredibly proud to be coaching a variety of athletes and people, as they look to accomplish their goals!

First off, shout-out to Amie for crossing the finish line at the Happy Valley Ironman 70.3 this last weekend! She's been working incredibly hard on her swims and doing her best at crushing any obstacles in her way!

Also, a shout-out for the Kent-Tusc Men's Basketball team for bringing me in as a volunteer nutrition coach. This team finished 4th in the country last year and are investing all-in on a national championship! I've been working directly with a handful of guys. They've been working hard on their nutrition and their weight training.

These are just a sample of the athletes I have been working with to be the best they can. This doesn't include the youth and high school level club swimmers, a few other triathletes, and some everyday people just looking to live healthier lives. I'm incredibly proud of everyone and thankful for the opportunity to work with such great individuals.

Hi All,

With certifications in Personal Training and growth into nutrition coaching, I am expanding my offerings from just swimming.

Within the last year, I have helped Ironman triathletes, Kent Tusc Basketball players, military enlistees, club swimmers, semi-pro football players, and people who just wanted to live a healthier, more active life.

I still specialize as a swim coach, but am able to help with running, weight lifting, and nutrition, depending on your goals.

Already a lap swimmer, or compete, but want to get better? Maybe a "swammer" and want to get back in the groove? Or are you looking for a different type of workout but want to learn along the way?

Starting Thursday, September 7, through Thursday, October 19, I will be coaching an adult group session 2x per week at the Tuscarawas County YMCA!

Member Registration begins August 20 for online, and August 21 at the Y

Open Registration begins August 23 and can be done in person or online

Returning to the water for the Ohio Ironman 2023 race for another relay 🌊 For this morning, building leg strength, finishing with 5 x 5 deadlifts @ 85% base. Lost my grip a few times, which made the last few reps more broken than I was hoping for, but we got it done

When training for the water, it's important to hit the weights as well. It's great to build strength outside the water and good for muscular development.

As the new year is around the corner, if a triathlon, masters swimming, or anything involving the water, is part of a goal of yours, or an obstacle you need to overcome, I am looking for clients for 2023. Give me a message and I'll do what I can to help!

To be a proficient swimmer, you also need to be proficient in the weight room and in the kitchen.

Hitting the weight room, outside the pool, is the best way to build strength to help with your pull and kick. Increasing power in both areas will not only increase the distance you'll be able to cover via same energy output, but also increase overall stroke efficiency.

As gas is to a car, the foods you eat are your energy source, what makes your internal cylinders fire. Having a great diet will help drive the energy output you will have in the water, while helping optimize the overall dynamics of the body.

Early morning grind!

Hit the pool this morning for a 5am workout with triathlete Amie Fahrney Jones 🏊‍♂️ We put a lot of emphasis this morning on hand entry and body rotation in the water, and finished with some sprint work.

Her hope and goal for next year is to do an Ironman 70.3. My hope and goal is to help her accomplish that.

Hello All,

I am currently looking for clients (18+) who are wanting to improve their swimming ability. Past clients have varied from military enlistees who were looking to pass certain military tests to USA Masters Swimming Athletes to triathletes looking to be faster and more efficient.

To anyone reading this and having interest, just some personal background from me:

I am 28 years old and have been involved with the sport since I was 5, resulting in 23 years of experience. 17 years have been as a competitive athlete, including collegiate experience, and 6 years as a coach (via personal instruction and as a high school coach).

Concurrently, I have competed in Ironman Distance Triathlons and coached athletes who have competed in open water events. So if open water is your concern, I have experience there as well.

If you are interested in improving your swimming ability, whether in a lap pool or open water, please reach out and I'll see what I can do to help.
