This is going to be a long post, so please bear with me. It's extremely difficult to put into words how hard it is for me to step away from coaching after 24 years. That's why it took me a week to post about it. I've always done my best to have a positive affect on every player I've ever coached. The trophies, medals and plaques are awesome, but knowing that my players grew as players and as people has always meant the most to me. I couldn't possibly thank every player individually in this post because I've been fortunate to coach A LOT of players. However, to every single player I've coached... Thank you! From the bottom of my heart, thank you! You helped me grow as a coach and person. From my first coaching position when I was about a month away from 16 years old to this last one a month and one day from 40 years old, it has been an amazing, awesome, wild ride. I still don't believe it has fully hit me yet but when it does, I know I'll be able to look back at all of the great memories that were made. Not only did I have the opportunity to coach a lot of other great kids, I was able to coach my own. Coaching Micayela, Aleeyah and Marcus through the years has been one of my all-time favorite things to do. Seeing them grow on and off the field has been a joy that could never be duplicated. I made a decision early in parenthood to never miss those moments no matter what and that is something I'll never ever regret. To all of the coaches I've had the pleasure to coach with, thank you! Thank you for always standing by my side and helping our players grow their love of the game. Thank you to my parents who always supported my coaching career even when their grandkids weren't playing! Last but definitely not least, thank you Tiff! You have stood by me for 20 years of wins, losses, championships and heartbreak. Being a coaches wife is a hard job and I appreciate your support more than you will ever know. Thank you again to everyone who made my passion exist and always worth it.
