Dance Etiquette Workshop

Workshop: Asking, Answering & Listening to Yourself when social dancing

Purpose:
To explore the communication that happens before, during, and after a dance and help dancers become more confident recognizing their own choices, another person’s response, and the verbal and nonverbal information exchanged between them.

The workshop revolves around 6 questions:
1- How do I ask?
2- How do I say no?
3- Should I ask again?
4- What am I feeling?
5- Where am I feeling this?                                                                          
6- Your own question…

With a focus on purpose, intention, and expectations.

Date: September 20 from 2p - 3:30p
Cost: $30 per person

Progressive 5-Week Zydeco Dance Series
Unlocking Your Own Style — Intuitively

Listen. Harmonize. Feel. Connect. Express.

This progressive five-week Zydeco series moves beyond simply learning steps. Each week builds upon the last, encouraging dancers to listen more deeply, become aware of their bodies, connect with their partners, and gradually discover their own natural style of movement— creating personalized experiences and supporting individuality and expressive depth with others.

September: 2, 9, 16, 23, 30

Time: 6PM - 7PM

Location: Dance Quarter

Cost: $25 for each class or $100 for all

Explore Louisiana partner dancing through the Waltz, 2-Step variations, and Zydeco. 
Open to dancers of all experience levels, lessons explore rhythm, musicality, connection, communication, and personal expression while honoring the cultural roots of Louisiana social dancing. 

Dancers are also welcome to bring influences from other dance styles, allowing their own movement experiences to become part of the partnership.
