RideTHISbike Bicycle shop in the New Orleans French Quarter. Bicycle accessory & bike sales, service, rentals & i Hurricane Katrina's toll was the genesis for our bike shop.

It was an event that causes one to evaluate their life and whether what they're doing is making a difference. Before Katrina, there was a bike shop in the French Quarter but the owner had died. I felt that the best way to continue sharing the fun and satisfaction that comes from cycling was to start a new bike shop. So RideTHISbike began doing business from a brick and mortar store in the French Q

uarter. While many of our customers are locals, RideTHISbike caters to visitors as well as online shoppers across the country. Our Brompton and Montague foldng bikes are quite popular; however, we sell and service all types of bicycles including beach cruisers, mountain bikes, street bikes and racing bikes. In addition to bike sales and service, RideTHISbike offers bike tours and bike rentals. To maximize your enjoyment, an assortment of bikes are available for use during your tour or rental and all bikes are maintained by our staff of competent mechanics. Our guides are fun, licensed and knowledgeable so expect to have a great time.

A traveling bicycle enthusiast recently visited RideTHISbike and created this wonderful video about the shop, and I am truly grateful for the time, care, and creativity she put into it.

What many people do not know is that Hurricane Katrina played a major role in why I started this business and why folding bikes, e-bikes, mobility, and practical transportation became such an important part of what we do.

Like so many people in this area, I went through Katrina myself, and it changed the way I thought about transportation, preparedness, and community. Over time, that grew into a very unusual bike shop in the French Quarter, one built around a real love of bicycles, unique bikes you do not see every day, and helping people discover better ways to get around.

If you have never been inside RideTHISbike, this video gives a real sense of the story behind the shop and why it is not a typical bike store.

🚨 E-Bike Safety Alert – Rad Power Bikes Bankruptcy & Battery Fire Warning

Rad Power Bikes has filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy while owing tens of millions more than its assets can cover. At the same time, the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) has issued a serious fire warning for certain older Rad batteries that can ignite or explode. The CPSC is advising riders to stop using affected batteries immediately and store them safely until proper disposal or replacement options are confirmed.

Rad has reportedly told regulators it cannot afford a full recall or provide refunds for all riders — leaving many owners without support.

If you own a Rad, check your battery model, unplug it, and follow local hazardous-waste storage rules until you know your pack is safe.
