How long can you hang?
Last night in our Aerial Hoop class, we put our grip strength to the test with a full 60-second hang challenge inspired by Mel Robbins and Dr. Brennan Spiegel’s discussion on longevity and overall health.
At first glance, it seems simple. Just hang from a bar for one minute.
But grip strength is being recognized as one of the strongest indicators of overall health, functional fitness, and even longevity. It’s connected to everything from cardiovascular health to maintaining independence as we age.
The best part? Our students showed up, challenged themselves, and discovered they’re capable of more than they thought.
At J. Rouge, we talk a lot about strength, but not just for tricks, spins, and beautiful shapes in the air. We train for life. Every class is an opportunity to build resilience, confidence, mobility, coordination, and strength that carries far beyond the studio walls.
So tell us… could you hang for 60 seconds?
TAG A FRIEND who would CRUSH this challenge (or needs to try it) and SAVE this post so you can test yourself later.
Thank you Sheri for filming this in your class last night!
