Today we remember.

The victims. The heroes. The silence. The chaos. The fear. The sadness. The unwavering patriotism. 🇺🇸

🦌 BIG RACK COMPETITION — COMMUNITY PARTNER ANNOUNCEMENT! 🎣🏹

We’re honored to announce that this year’s Big Rack Competition Community Partner is the Nathan Brookins Memorial Fund for Kids in the Outdoors!

The outdoors can teach lessons that last a lifetime — and this fund will help to make sure more local kids get the opportunity to experience it.

Portions of the proceeds raised through this year’s Big Rack Competition and celebration will support the Nathan Brookins Memorial Fund for Kids in the Outdoors, helping local schools provide outdoor-related opportunities and experiences for youth throughout our region.

Whether it’s hunting, fishing, conservation, outdoor education, or simply giving a young person the chance to discover a love for the outdoors, we’re proud to help carry Nathan’s memory forward by opening the outdoors to the next generation.

Big racks. Bigger purpose. A lasting legacy.

Stay tuned to the Pure Rock Radio Network for more details on this year’s Big Rack Competition and how YOU can be part of supporting Kids in the Outdoors! 🦌🎣🌲

When your team sets a record for number of food plots planted in a single day and the weather does what it said it would do….

Yesterday we planted plots on 6 different properties spread out over 120 miles totaling almost 20 acres. Just a short couple hours later Mother Nature held up its end.

Being in a business heavily reliant on specific weather conditions the pressure we receive during food plot season is unimaginable to most people. Yet somehow, thanks to experience, a very calculated juggling of resources and a God wink here and there, we always come through.

We may not always be able to control the variables, but we’ll work around however we have to to get it done. One more week and fall plots are officially complete!

Team member Izzy had her 2025 hunt debut on Chasing Giants TV, and it’s a roller coaster of all the feels.

Izzy has worked her way up in age class for years now and it proved helpful in this moment when her biggest buck to date gave her a perfect opportunity. It hits a little different when we had a hand in the management of this permission farm prior to her closing the deal.

If you’re a parent looking to get your kids in the deer woods, or already do, this is especially one you won’t want to miss!

Gives a whole new meaning to “perch”. If it’s good enough for the birds, it’ll do for us.

Doesn’t hurt to have some Real World Wildlife Products NutriCrave corn to be perched over either.

We stopped into The Local Butcher with the folks from Ace Hardware to pick up some of the fair purchases made from the Athens County Fair.

These folks are second to none in preparation, options and custom items when it comes to your favorite meats. We’re happy to support them and keep it local!

Chances are you seen plenty of food plotters post pictures with crop success and no context. Crop success posts are great, but if the ground is dialed in and has been managed for years on end, then what does it teach?

What it likely does instead is discourage others from trying and create a sense of failure for the folks trying to learn management practices and establish successful food sources. Nobody posts the failures or, in situations like this, first year successes.

This photo was taken yesterday on a first year farm that has been nothing but hay fields for many many years. We came in, pulled soil samples, applied soil amendments, played it safe with an herbicide application and an unknown seed bank, inoculated & drilled Real World Wildlife Products Gen2 soybeans, sprayed again at 6” tall and monitored.

The first year of new food sources is always the most expensive. If you want to do it right, it won’t be done cheap. But, doing it right in the beginning makes it far cheaper down the road.

We don’t skip steps or cut corners. This is the proof.

When a plan comes together…

New client, new farm, plan in hand.

This new client farm has been cut for hay and unmanaged for decades. We got to work early this spring pulling soil samples and getting amendments in the dirt.

Several acres of manicured Real World Wildlife Products Gen2 Soybeans, hidden access annual screening, some fall food sources to add the diversity and soon to be 100 new fruit trees from gingerichtreefarm.

Talk about a big first year! It’s not always easy, especially with this much work going into a new property with lots of unknowns. But if there’s anyone that can do it and do it right, it’s us. 💪🏻

Let’s talk switchgrass.

Almost ALWAYS you’re going to second guess yourself on the first year. It’s slow to establish and can take several weeks to even appear. The most important part of establishing switch is w**d control and trusting the process.

We drilled this Real World Wildlife Products switch in earlier in the spring with our PH Outdoors G5. The ground was treated with a general herbicide as well as a pre-emergent prior to planting. Since planting it’s received 3 different herbicide application to keep w**ds under control, all while appearing as though it was a potential failure.

Unprecedented rains through July and August really created a challenge ensuring the w**ds didn’t overwhelm it. But then, it took off. Over 3 months after drilling can we finally see some real progress. It’s likely there will be a 4th application prior to the frost, but this is proof that if you trust the process and follow the plan it works!
