The Millers caught an Orioles game with their former Rebel, Conor Miller! Conor was an assistant coach in 2023 and now is an assistant coach at York College.

The New Market Rebels are pleased to announce that Ty Martin has been hired as head coach for the 2027 Valley Baseball League season.

Coach Martin, who served as an assistant coach for the Rebels during the 2026 season, brings a wealth of baseball experience to New Market. He played four seasons of college baseball in the SEC, two each at the University of Florida and Mississippi State. He was then drafted by the Texas Rangers and played in the minor leagues from 2000 to 2003.

Following his voluntary retirement from his professional baseball career in 2003, Ty began his
graduate career at The University of Southern Mississippi where he earned a Ph.D. in Human Performance with an Exercise Physiology Emphasis. Martin is currently in his 19th consecutive year as a Professor of Exercise Science at the university level. During this time Coach Martin has stayed close to the game, working as a coach at the high school level.

Coach Martin had this to say when asked about taking on the head coaching position in 2027 “I am excited and honored to accept the head coaching position for the New Market Rebels of the Valley Baseball League for the 2027 summer season. I am looking forward to the opportunity to working with the great people within the New Market Rebels Family and contributing to the deep history of the organization”.
