Here's one you may not have seen. Take note, the whole trail is not like the video, but if you like shorter hikes or rides, you can easily do about 5 miles out and back from the new trail head in New London, Ohio. There's a passable but rougher section after the very nicely manicured New London end, then there's also another just as nice roughly 2 mile section heading towards Greenwich before another rough section before the rougher trailhead at the New Greenwich end. There's also one significant street crossing with a bit of street riding on either side, none of which is a problem if you take your time crossing the street. About half the trail looks like the video and the good people working the trail are preparing for the next segment - so take a look and thanks to those finishing off a new trail in Ohio! Without further ado, enjoy part of the New London end!

One of the newer trails in Ohio is the AC&Y Trail. It's a rails to trails trail which runs between New London, Ohio and Greenwich, Ohio. In fact, the AC&Y is...

It's an important reminder to always be mindful of conditions when you are heading out. If you're heading to a trail you are not familiar with, perhaps it's best to pick a stretch of nice weather to do it within. River gauges are really important for kayaking ... and occasionally for biking and hiking, too!

On snowy days like today, some of our bike and multipurpose trails can be suitable for fat bikes or cross country skiing as seen here on one of the newer trails in our state, the New London-Greenwich AC&Y Trail which opened on June 20, 2023.

It’s not too cold to enjoy the trail!

Can't get out on the trails because of the weather? Indoor cycling is big and a great way to get ready for when you determine the weather is nice enough for you to go ride your bike. It can help you keep your fitness over Winter and get you over that startup phase in Spring. There's lots of options. Our favorite at OTM, is Rouvy because it is the most realistic. It uses real video scenery for your rides. Zwift is the biggest of the indoor cycling apps and might be your choice if the social aspects of cycling are more your thing. If you're really into training, both Rouvy and Zwift can handle that and Trainer Road is the one that really focuses on that, but maybe at the expense of the fun you can have riding indoors. There are also BKool, MyWoosh, FulGaz, Wahoo System X and others. Almost all have a free trial available and MyWoosh is completely free at this time (at least for now). Try one or try them all. Like we said earlier, the one that seems to match our vibe here is Rouvy. You can find it and the trial signup at rouvy.com.

Are you ready to ride in 2024? Get your bike tuned up and get ready to explore! ... just maybe not quite this quickly! We usually take our rides a little more leisurely taking the time to soak in all the sights along the way. We've got a YouTube channel! Like and subscribe - don't worry though, we'll post them here too.

Got a minute? That's all this takes to cover 15 miles. Buckle up - that means the average speed of the trip for you will be 900MPH! Don't worry - this channe...

This is a tip to remember to be courteous to your fellow trail users. When soft trails set after drying, it can make hiking and especially cycling much less pleasant. It takes time for use and weather to smooth things out. This is quite important for the non-paved sections of the Towpath which is multi-use and heavily used. Try a paved trail instead for cycling. Switching out to wider tires will also help your ride in multiple ways.

Help our trails. If there is mud on your heel or wheel, consider another deal. As in, consider using a less muddy trail. Walking or biking on muddy trails or their edges ruts and widens the trail. Consider less muddy trails like the Bike and Hike or Ledges Trails. NPS Photo.
