Goat Fastpitch - Coach Josh Hays

09/29/2026

Wanted to take a moment to highlight GOAT athlete Annie G. She has done a great job over the past several months of learning to commit to her load and push herself to be more consistent overall. She had a great weekend with her Bombers 12u team and there is so much more ahead for her this year and beyond.

Congrats to GOAT Fastpitch “Sparkles” Pitchers for taking home the Championship with the 12u Sparks. Great job Sienna, Emma and Kenzie!!!!!!!

The order matters.

A lot of development starts with mechanics because mechanics are the easiest thing to see.

But visible doesn’t always mean causal.

Before I decide a movement pattern needs to change, I want to know what the athlete is actually trying to do and what the ball is actually doing.

Intent first.

Ball flight and performance second.

Movement pattern third.

Intervention last.

Because if I don’t understand what’s happening in her head, I can easily misread what I’m seeing with my eyes.

That’s where coaching can get backwards.

We see something.

We label it.

We change it.

I’d rather understand the athlete first, then decide if the movement is actually the problem.

Player driven. Data supported.

Congrats to Maddie on a new PR!

She came in yesterday ready to work, trusted it, and it paid off.

Love seeing the work turn into results.

Lefty power 💪

The littles Chelsea and Jadyn learning the same concepts as the bigs Sadie and Maddie. Everyone killed it today. Never too young to start learning how to move as a pitcher! Great day of development.
