Everyone talks about the way the game is changing, softer players, less intensity, more excuses, but who’s stepping up to reverse it? I think that’s a good question, we work on that inside our doors, we don’t just talk about it, we focus on it. We lose some, which is understandable, but standing up to discipline, authority and fairness isn’t an option, it’s the only way to go!

A great human being, who happened to be a football coach

Some people coach football. Lou Holtz coached life.

Wins fade. Trophies collect dust. What lasts is the standard he lived by and demanded from everyone around him. Discipline. Faith. Accountability. Love for your family. Love for your team. Love for something bigger than yourself.

He never promised easy. He promised worth it.
He didn’t build players. He built men.
He didn’t chase respect. He earned it the old way. Daily.

In a world obsessed with shortcuts, Lou Holtz stood for doing things right. When nobody was watching. Especially then.

If you ever wondered what leadership looks like, what conviction sounds like, what legacy means… you already know the answer.

You know, when you put too much pressure on a kid who can play, it can absolutely cause them to never be able to convince themselves they can do enough. How about you just let them play, contribute and allow them to play with grace, then you’ll really see what type of player you have. Great players still need coaching and assurance, don’t expect more out of them, expect what they are capable of and you’ll get more often than not, because they have bad games and fail!
