Parents with children from infants to 5 years old can enjoy a special music time in our "Music Together" class. Sing, laugh and learn along with your baby, toddler or preschooler in these award-winning classes. Music Together will be held on Wednesdays, September 30-December 2 at the Crystal Community Center. Trick or Trot is back! Kids ages 2-12 will have a great time at this special Halloween event that includes trick-or-treating, face painting, pumpkin decorating, music, a costume contest and carnival games. Food trucks will also be on site. Then stick around for a free screening of the movie, "Monsters University" following the event. Trick or Trot will take place on Saturday, October 3 from 4:30-6:30 p.m. at the New Hope Performance Center Fee: $10 per child. Musical Theater Camps will be offered this fall. Youth ages 4-7 and 7-12 will learn lines, songs and dances as they put together their own musical. Instructors from Mayer Arts will teach participants how to develop their character and stage presence in this fun class. Includes a performance on the final day. Musical Theater Camps will take place on Saturdays, September 26-November 14 at the Crystal Community Center. Ages 4-7 meet from 1-2:25 p.m. and ages 7-12 meet from 2:15-3:30 p.m. Fee: $79. Adult Yoga classes will begin in mid-September. Participants can choose from a variety of classes including Energy Flow, Happy Joints, Strength Yoga, Chair Yoga and more. If you're not sure which style might be right for you, one-day Yoga Sampler classes will also be offered. Most classes are held on Wednesdays, September 16-October 21. Staff will provide clear, guided instruction as they cover all the basics--from rules and mechanics to roleplaying and combat. Youth ages 8 and older can learn how to stay safe while home alone. An American Red Cross licensed training provider will cover concerns parents have including arriving home, responsibilities, phone and internet safety, fire and gun safety, and more. Parents are encouraged to attend the last 15 minutes of class. "Safe at Home" will take place on Monday, September 14 from 5:30-8:30 p.m. at Brookview in Golden Valley. Fee: $59. Adults, join us on select Wednesdays of the month for informative programs, donuts and coffee at "Community Connections". Programs will take place from 10-11:30 a.m. at the Crystal Community Center. On September 16, a representative from Metropolitan Mosquito Control will discuss the different types of mosquitoes and ways to protect yourself, on October 14, Doug Ohman will share stories and photos of Minnesota's cemeteries, and on November 18 you can step into the magical world of Oz through books, movies, comic books and collectibles. $5 per person for program, coffee and donut.
