Hey guys we can tow more than just the school gliders. A few nights ago we had pilot try out a new to him double surface glider. Then today we had a PG. He got an 8 min flight from 900ish ft. The smoke/ haze kept the lift light but the winds were nearly straight down the main runway.

We've created a flow chart to help show the progression of this system and what you need. We are still fine tuning all the parameters. The fixed cost for ST sign off is going to be $600. Includes all training and tows. Pilots must be actively in USHG, Inc's training and or be a h1 or above to participate. Estimate ground schooling 2-4 hours and unlimited towing until confident with tow system limited to 100 ft max altitude. We are available weekdays and limited access on weekends.

We are offering a $300 bounty to the first hang gliding pilot to do a hour-long soaring flight using our Vortex to launch. Best wind directions are west to west southwest or east northeast to east weekdays. Sorry but this airport is just too busy on weekends with other air traffic. We are open to other locations if you know of a good one.

Ok guys, so if you haven't seen or heard yet. We have an all new electric tow winch, set up. It's the Vortex-15 (vx-15) with just over 6,000 feet of high grade Spectra and enough power to pull up, even a tandem hang glider. Our training scooter only has about 2,000 feet worth of line and a lot less available power. We are going to be running a pre sale special for pilots to get their Surface Tow (ST) sign off, to be able to fly with us. This sale will run until our planned BBQ/ fun fly in (weather permitting) for Sunday late afternoon on July 6th, 2025. Rain dates are the following weekend Saturday (12th) or Sunday (13th). Please contact us, if you have any questions or want to set up a day to come on out and fly. Keep an eye for an event page. We would also need a few individuals that would like to get their tow tech level 1 to help us out if we ever need another winch operator. Please make a comment or send us a message with your questions. Lets try and get some more flyable days this summer.

Wow, what a day we had yesterday. Finally after weeks and weeks of very high winds and a lot of rain, we get a day like today. We had 4 pilots out. One of which was a paraglider. The other three pilots are all interested in power harnesses and all have mosquitoes. Got some much needed testing in on the new Vortex 15 electric winch. The winds were very light and cross at times. We had about 2700 ft of line out and we didn't go past 40% of the available power. I was able to get 2 high tows in. One of which we use the two stage release, very nice by the way. I was able to do a 180 fly back towards take off area do a 360 and continue going downwind and making my downwind base then final.
