The Sugar River Bombers 16U took 2nd place out of an 18-team field at the 2025 Screamfest (16/18U) in Beloit, finishing the weekend 7-2! 💪

After going 3-0 in pool play to earn the #1 seed, the Bombers stumbled in their first bracket game Sunday morning — but they didn’t stay down for long. The team fought their way through the losers bracket, winning three straight before ultimately falling to the Illinois Stars in the championship game.

A long, hard-fought day and an awesome weekend of softball. Way to battle, Bombers! 🥎🔥

Girls finished pool play 3-0 today at the Janesville Fall Tournament taking the #1 Seed 💪 out scoring their opponents 41-5 💣 They start bracket play tomorrow at 2pm

💣 Bomber Hitting Camp Success!

A huge thank you to Madison Nightmare Hitting Coach Paul Petricca for hosting an incredible hitting camp with the Sugar River Bombers 15U Girls Softball team at our Monticello facility!

Coach Paul spent the afternoon working with our athletes on swing fundamentals, mechanics, and approach—and the results were amazing!

🏅 Bat Speed Breakthroughs:
The highlight of the day was measuring bat speed velocity at the start and end of the camp. Every athlete saw significant improvements:
⚡️ Team average increased from 62.3 mph to 66.9 mph!
⚡️ Shoutout to Aleah and Drina for improving by 10+ mph!

The girls had a blast and are excited to apply what they learned this winter.

The Sugar River Bombers Softball placed 3rd 🥉 at the NAFA Fall State Tournament, in Loves Park, IL. They went 5-2 on the weekend, losing their last game to the Sycamore Sycos who ended up winning the championship. Great job Sugar River Bombers 💣 🥎
