The Sugar River Bombers 16U wrapped up the 2026 season at the USSSA Great Lakes National Championship in Peoria, Illinois, finishing 5th out of 19 teams at the Louisville Slugger Sports Complex. The team also earned the tournament’s Sportsmanship Award, with umpires consistently commenting on how respectful, positive, and fun the Bombers were to umpire.

The team closed the year with a 36-18 record.

It’s hard to believe these girls are heading into their junior and senior years of high school. Looking ahead, some of them are wrapping up their softball careers, while others will continue on, but all of them will carry forward the lessons, memories, and friendships built along the way. This group has truly become a family, one that supports each other on and off the field.

Looking forward to seeing what’s next for this group in softball and in life.

What a weekend for the Sugar River Bombers 16U at the NAFA Midwest Nationals!

After going 2-1 in pool play to earn the #2 seed, we were upset by ESA Prospects, 12-2, in our first bracket game. That meant an 8:00 a.m. Sunday start and the toughest road possible—five straight wins just to reach the championship game. We did just that.

This team battled through the losers bracket, earning revenge over ESA in the quarterfinals and defeating the Minnesota Elks in the semifinals to punch their ticket to the title game. After six games in one day, we came up just short, falling 4-2 to Milwaukee Angels Blue to finish runner up in our bracket.

Every single player contributed this weekend. The determination, grit, resilience, and belief this team showed was something special.

What a weekend to remember! 🏆
The 9U, 11U, and 13U Americans Bombers all finished as champions in Milton, WI! The dedication, teamwork, and fight these teams showed all weekend was incredible. Congratulations, Bombers — keep making memories! ⚾

Sugar River Bombers 14U Softball team took home GOLD on the diamond at the Verona Hometown Showdown!

This weekend was truly a team effort for this Bombers Squad! They put up an incredible 62 runs over 6 games! It was a great weekend on the diamond for these ladies!

And a quick shoutout to the subs, who helped fill out our roster this weekend.
