Sure it is fun and exciting to add speed but without a solid foundation, speed will likely cause everything to fall apart!

Having the correct balanced position allows a rider to feel more secure. Adding technique for proper use of aides is essential for rider confidence and safety 😊

Once a rider can independently master both balance position and aides at a walk then speed can be added. Moving onto the next gait will almost feel like a restart again as a rider learns to use balance position and aides at this new gait.

Learning to ride occurs in layers! This is why it takes time and consistency to build that foundation 💕

🤔How do we fit unmounted skills into our lessons!?

When we tack up, warm ups, cool downs, or untacking! We can squeeze in mini lessons for unmounted knowledge anywhere!

Here we are working on parts of a horse with the goal of naming at least 10 body parts of a horse during our lesson cool down! This is one of our learning goals in our HorseSense Learning Levels for our rainbow 🌈 level!

Once a student checks ✅ off each learning goal for their current level, they LEVEL UP 🏅 and earn their ribbon 💕

We will be going to Clyde Saddle & Trail Club which is actually right down the road!

Come watch and see what it is all about 😊. We have a concession stand too, some come hungry!
