Hey Everyone, Senior Bowl is over and we are inching closer to the NFL Combine on March 3rd. Very exciting. I did something a little different this time. At the bottom, there are names to watch, these are guys whose draft stock is rising and they could make their way into the 1st round. Please like, comment, and share. We want as many people as possible to see and experience this. Thank you guys!!!! Enjoy!!!!!
1. Cleveland Browns- Myles Garrett DE Texas A&M- This is a no-brainer. Myles Garrett should definitely and will be the #1 pick. He explodes off the line of scrimmage and he is very quick. He needs to be better with his hands while fending off blockers, but he can be a multiple all-pro DE.
2. San Francisco 49ers- Mitch Trubisky QB North Carolina- This pick has Kyle Shanahan written all over it. When asked what type of QB he would like, Shanahan said, “A pure passer”. That is exactly who MItch Trubisky is. He is great on 3rd down situations and he is a playmaker. Trubisky has tons of potential and that is why the 49ers pick him here.
3. Chicago Bears- Jamal Adams S LSU- Many people are wondering why the Bears do not choose a QB here. The QBs are not the best on this draft. I believe that the Bears end up getting Jimmy Garoppolo. The Bears defensive backfield is pathetic. Literal garbage. They need a whole revamping and it starts here. Jamal Adams is the best well rounded safety in this draft. He knows when to stay in the box for the run and he knows how to drop back in the pass. He is a leader for secondary and that is why the Bears pick him here.
4. Jacksonville Jaguars- Jonathan Allen DE Alabama- The Jaguars pass rush was not good at all this year. Jonathan Allen is an athletic freak. 6’3”, 290 lbs. He is powerful but he has a rare quickness that almost no one with his size has. He wrecks havoc for opposing blockers. He is going to be in multiple Pro Bowls.
5. Tennessee Titans (via LA)- Mike Williams WR Clemson- Mike Williams showed his capabilities this past season as he and Deshaun Watson led Clemson to a National Championship. Rishard Matthews and Tajae Sharpe are not going to be able to carry the load for a long period of time. The Titans need a reliable WR who can go up and get the ball and Mike Williams is that guy.
6. New York Jets- Marshon Lattimore CB Ohio St.- In my opinion, I feel that Darrelle Revis is done. He is old and I would not be surprised if they moved Revis to safety or even cut him. The Jets need some youth in that secondary.
7. Los Angeles Chargers- Malik Ho**er S Ohio St- The Chargers lost Eric Weddle last offseason and if you watched the Chargers this year, there was a dire need for a safety in the defensive backfield. Malik Ho**er is the right fit for a big market and big expectations.
8. Carolina Panthers- Leonard Fournette RB LSU- Leonard Fournette is a beast. If you have watched his highlights at LSU, you will know why I’m saying that. Jonathan Stewart is getting old and Fournette is a better version of Stewart I think. He would fit right in.
9. Cincinnati Bengals- Reuben Foster ILB Alabama- Reuben Foster reminds me of his former Alabama teammate C.J. Mosley. Alabama breeds MLBs and this one is no different. He is a tackling machine. Foster finished the 2016 season with 115 tackles. He is a prolific and vocal leader on the defense. This is what the Bengals need.
10. Buffalo Bills- Deshaun Watson QB Clemson- Tyrod Taylor will not be the starting quarterback for the Buffalo Bills next year. I believe that he will leave and find a job elsewhere. This leaves the quarterback job wide open. Deshaun Watson is the best QB on the board at this time and they cannot risk waiting to try and get one later. Watson is the pick here.
11. New Orleans Saints- Marlon Humphrey CB Alabama- Marlon Humphrey’s athleticism stands out to me when I watch his tape. I believe that it gives him an advantage above some of the other cornerbacks in this draft. The Saints defense is atrocious and they need help. Humphrey will bring a sense of urgency and pride to this defense… hopefully.
12. Cleveland Browns (via PHI)- DeShone Kizer QB Notre Dame- The Browns will need to draft a quarterback here. Barring no trades for this pick, this will be a reach I believe, but Kizer is better than what they have right now so Kizer is the answer here.
13. Arizona Cardinals- O.J. Howard TE Alabama- Who is the Arizona Cardinals’ TE??? Jermaine Gresham??? I rest my case.
14. Philadelphia Eagles (via MIN)- Corey Davis WR Western Michigan- Corey Davis took a knock during training. He had minor ankle surgery. I still believe that he will be drafted this high. He is way worth it.
15. Indianapolis Colts- Solomon Thomas DE Stanford- Solomon Thomas is moving up on many draft boards and he deserves too. He is NFL ready and he is polished. Colts pass rush was awful last year. Solomon Thomas is the best player available and it just so happens that he is a DE.
16. Baltimore Ravens- Jabrill Peppers S Michigan- VERSATILITY. Jabrill Peppers is a very interesting prospect here because he really does not have a defined position. He is a playmaker. The Ravens lost Eric Weddle so he can play safety. The Ravens lost Zachary Orr so he can play linebacker. Endless opportunities for Peppers in Baltimore.
17. Washington Redskins- Dalvin Cook RB Florida St.- Robert Kelley did a good job filling in the gap at the running back position for Washington last year. I do not believe that he is the long-term answer for the Redskins. Dalvin Cook is a great runner. He is quick, fast, and strong. He can catch out of the backfield. His pass protection is a question but not that much of one to hurt his draft stock.
18. Tennessee Titans- Sidney Jones CB Washington- The Titans could use another cornerback to go alongside Jason McCourty. Jones did not allow a TD in coverage all season. He is great man-to-man. He will need to get a little stronger, but the sky's the ceiling for this kid.
19. Tampa Bay Buccaneers- Taco Charlton DE Michigan- One of my favorite prospects in this draft. Seeing him grow over the course of the season was incredible. He is very athletic for his size and he makes it work to his advantage. He is great in the pass rush. Any 4-3 team has their eye on him.
20. Denver Broncos- Cam Robinson OT Alabama- Many people are thinking that Cam Robinson should be higher, but if you watched the National Championship, he struggled. He also had some off the field issues during his college career. He is a great pass protector but in the run game, he could use some work. The Broncos need a staple LT and I think that he has the potential to be one.
21. Detroit Lions- Takkarist McKinley OLB UCLA- The Packers might be losing Nick Perry and Julius Peppers, so they need a pass rusher to fill in the spot. McKinley has the potential to be a great pass rusher
22. Miami Dolphins- Derek Barnett DE Tennessee- Mario Williams was just cut after he had an abysmal season with the Dolphins who signed him last year. Barnett is an elite pass rusher so I feel that he will fit in perfectly. This defense will be even better than they were last year.
23. New York Giants- Christian McCaffery RB Stanford- The Giants run game was terrible this year. Most of it is because of the offensive line, but their running backs did not do the run game any justice. Rashad Jennings got released this week, which means that they are moving into a new chapter. McCaffery is that new chapter.
24. Oakland Raiders- Jalen “Teez” Tabor CB Florida- Tabor is one of the most talented corners in this draft. He is so low because of his off the field issues from this past year. Things might clear up at the combine during interviews but for now he is going to the Raiders. He will start right away and he will flourish as they make another playoff push.
25. Houston Texans- Ryan Ramczyk OT Wisconsin- The Texans need offensive line to block for whoever is going to start at QB next year. If it’s Romo, he is fragile, so they need the best blockers. Ramczyk has proved to be a reliable tackle.
26. Seattle Seahawks- Garett Bolles OT Utah- Bolles has been moving up on draft boards because of his athleticism at the OT position. He can play against the best of speed rushers in the game. He is a great fit for Russell Wilson and the Seahawks.
27. Kansas City Chiefs- Quincy Wilson CB Florida- People may be wondering they have Marcus Peters, why do they need another cornerback? Peters can’t cover both receivers at the same time. They need to sure up the #2 CB position and Quincy Wilson will slide right in. He will be able to learn from Peters and he will strive in KC.
28. Dallas Cowboys- DeMarcus Walker DL Florida St.- If you saw how he played against Michigan in the Orange Bowl, you will understand why he is projected here. He was in the backfield almost every play against the strong offensive line. He has potential to be a pretty good player in the NFL.
29. Green Bay Packers- Jourdan Lewis CB Michigan- Lewis is small for a CB. This will hurt his draft stock. But also he is a cornerback who is aggressive in the pass and run game. This will attract teams to him. He is worth taking a shot on.
30. Pittsburgh Steelers- Haason Reddick LB Temple- He is a one of a kind player in this draft. Many people have not even heard of him. Notice that I did not put OLB or ILB because he can play both. He is a great pass rusher, but can play ILB.
31. Atlanta Falcons- Forrest Lamp OG/OT Western Kentucky- Forrest Lamp is one of those good names in this draft class, but that is not why I put him here. He is an offensive lineman that is proficient at OG and OT. This is big for the Falcons who need a guard.
32. New England Patriots- Charles Harris DE Missouri- Harris showed this year that he was a top pass rusher against a conference of very good teams in the SEC. He had three sacks against Georgia, a sack against Tennessee, a forced fumble against Florida. These stats are showing that he is very capable of playing at a top level. This will be a pick that Belichick will bring the best out of.
Names to watch: Zay Jones WR ECU, Rasul Douglas CB West Virginia, Antonio Garcia OT Troy, Tre’Davious White CB LSU
