Mt. Lawn Speedway is saddened to hear of the passing of a local recing legend, Randy Anderson
For generations, the Anderson family has been a part of Mt. Lawn Speedway, and Randy carried that racing tradition with him throughout his years at the track.
If you spent much time around Mt. Lawn, chances are you remember seeing the #86 out on the track. Randy raced just about everything Mt. Lawn had to offer over the years, including our Modifieds, Late Models, and Street Stocks.
But Randy was more than the number on the side of his car.
He was part of the Mt. Lawn family.
He was part of the stories told in the pits, the battles on the track, the friendships made at the racetrack, and the memories that get passed down from one generation of racers and fans to the next.
There are drivers who come to a racetrack to race, and then there are drivers who become part of the racetrack itself. Randy Anderson was one of those drivers.
His love for Mt. Lawn was evident every time he pulled the #86 through the gates. His name and his family’s racing history will forever be a part of the story of this place.
Our thoughts are with Randy’s family, friends, fellow racers, and everyone who shared memories with him at Mt. Lawn over the years.
We'll always remember the #86.
Rest easy, Randy. Thank you for all the laps, all the memories, and for being such an important part of Mt. Lawn Speedway.
