After being on a verification pause for 72hours, we got it all sorted out!
Let’s recap the weekend!
🧩We traveled over the border to play in the 3rd Annual Batter Up for Autism tournament that benefits Potential Development, a school for students with Autism in Youngstown, Ohio.
💥The girls put their heart and soul into their first pool play game against a very talented Outlaws 9u team. This team had beat us every scrimmage we have had so it was a game everyone was ready for. Alivia came out with determination on the mound and pitch a full 5 inning game with amazing stats. Her defense was strong behind her, holding the Outlaws team to 3 runs.
🔥Our bats were cookin’ and we struck fast and early in the first inning that carried our energy through the game and Silver Creek came out with a strong win 5-3. It was a hard fought game to the end and our opponents did not give up.
With all of our energy going towards that first game, we did not play our best for the remaining pool play games. Losing to Ohio Blast 8-6 and to Velocity Heat 7-0. Both great games, well coached opponents.
⭐️Bracket play we faced a strong Wolfpack 10u team that had great bats. Tough for our girls but 9u will have its fair share of growing pains.
🧩All in All, the weekend was about something more, and laced into it was an even deeper meaning. The game is about more than just wins and loses, especially at such a prime developmental age for these athletes.
