Another year of karting finished. SuperNats 25 was quite the experience.
Tyler qualified P7 out of 50 drivers from 8 different countries. Finished the 3 heats in P5, P2, and P9 which put him starting P2 for the main on Super Sunday. The start of the main didn’t go as planned and after being hit from behind fell back to 11th. He took the entire 18 laps to catch back up to the front pack but crossed the line in P6.
Podiums are awarded through P5 so he just missed out on the big podium celebration. Although post race penalties moved Tyler up into the 5th position…taking home some hardware.
This was the last race in Mini Swift for Tyler as he is moving up to KA100 Junior next year and racing the Tony kart that raced (and maybe put in the barrier 🤣) this weekend. Travis raced the KA100 Master class and finished 19th…right in front of but an incident responsibility penalty sent him to 21st. You know who didn’t have a single penalty all weekend….Tyler. 🫢
This father/son race weekend made for some interesting tent talk! But huge shout out to Travis for wrenching on BOTH his masters kart as well as Tyler’s Mini AND racing with pretty consistent lap times. This couldn’t have happened without the help of his parents, Charlie Swayne and the entire Iron Rock team.
This was a pretty great year for Tyler:
- 3rd in SKUSA Winter Tour (.usa)
- 1st USPKS (.usa)
- 1st SKUSA Pro Tour (.usa)
- 2nd USPKS ()
- 1st championship ()
- 5th SuperNationals ()
National Championship standings:
- 3rd in the
- 5th in the Pro Tour
(All with only 2 DNFs and 3 penalties all year)
So many to thank for all of 2022:
