Quick update: that jig is worth its weight in gold... well, silver at least.

Very efficient and easy to grind in all the rough bevels in 40grit, very precisely, and get all the plunge lines evened up and the corner lines near perfect where the adjacent bevels meet under the head and the lanyard loop under the handle.

I left small margins everywhere so I can fine tune everything post heat treat.

Starting to pick away at the first of three of these hatchets. Water jet cut 1/4" thick 8670. 3d printed PETG-CF angle guide slipped over the original Ameribrade small tool rest, courtesy of Iron Hill Laser .

Thinking about making a few leather sheaths utilizing rivets or grommets in lieu of stitching. A quick trial run using grommets.

Checking grommet offset from the edge using Iron Hill Laser 's 60w co2 laser to cut the leather blank and precisely locate all the holes.

Starting to shape the handle for the straight razor. Red / black carbon fiber with black G10 liners and a black carbon fiber spacer. I'll use a stainless steel gulso bolt and a pair of teflon washers to mount the blade.

This is the smallest, thinnest knife I've made so far at .073" thick at the spine. This will probably get a belt finish up to around 400grit, then a satin treatment via surface conditioning or cork belts.

Progress on another full polish with bone handles. This one will get black g10 liners. The intial polish is done. Scales will get fit up and shaped, the spine polished, back to the bevels and flats for final polish, then onto sharpening.

Random pictures from the day. Made a little progress on a few knives and finally got all the belts hung up on the wall.

Going to try out a set of carbon fiber scales on this original prototype of the Hunter-1. Finish on the flats is as tempered with a quick scrub using steel wool and Tsubaki oil.
