Dear PASC members:
We are writing to you to make you aware of a recent development that may impact our opening weekend.
Every year, the board members and devoted volunteers work hard to make the necessary repairs and preparations for the opening of the season. Each year we address necessary repairs to our beloved swim club, especially necessary infrastructure repairs to the primary pool.
Monday evening one of those repairs we addressed in the primary failed, and will require additional repairs to correct it. The efficacy of the repair was further impacted by the wave of high temperatures, which had an adverse effect on the curing process. The scope of the new repair will add additional days of resurfacing, masonry work, curing, repainting, etc. As we immediately get to work addressing that concern, and making sure that the pool is both safe and ready for summer fun, we are now facing another weather related impact beyond our control — a multi-day forecast of precipitation.
After much deliberation and discernment, and with the immediate safety and long-term stewardship of the pool in mind, we are compelled to delay the official opening of the season until Saturday, May 30, 2026.. This postponement, with added precautions, will give us the time to address these new repairs and have the pool ready for your enjoyment.
In advance, we truly appreciate your understanding in this matter. We are fortunate that Labor Day is later this year, so we gain an additional week of the season on the backend.
We sincerely look forward to seeing everyone gather at the pool on Saturday, May 30th.
