Congratulations to our 2024 Kalajainen Klassic Male & Female Champions!

Ron Liscio, Jr. is a two time Klassic Champion and crossed @ 18:52.17 (6:05 average pace)!!!

Amy O’donnell is now our Back to Back Overall Female Klassic Champion with a finishing time of 19:32.76 (6:18 average pace)! Amy finished 2nd Overall!

Next year marks the Kalajainen Klassic’s 25th Anniversary and we have some extra run fun in store for everyone! First, we invite back all previous champions to run with us, either as a fun run, to race your previous time, or to fight for 1st! If you choose to compete - there is a $100 cash prize for the male and female who break the Klassic Record! We look forward to seeing our returning champs & the many new faces that decorate our course!

It’s the final countdown to the 24th Annual Kalajainen Klassic 5k & 1 Mile walk/run!

We have several XC Coaches bringing their teams this year! Thank you!!
There are about 55 participants who are 16 years and under! Some are competing, some are doing it as an easy run day, and some are attending to support the American Cancer Society! It’s the perfect way to log some miles and bond as a team! It’s not too late to register! Message me for Team Discount info!

Adults! We have a range of participants and skill levels from 6years old to 80+! We invite everyone to walk/run with us and embrace life!

Meet Natalie Lape from Mohawk!! Natalie is a 2 x Kalajainen Klassic 5K Overall Female Champion AND she is the current female course record holder, with a finishing time of 18:38.51 (6:01 average pace)!

Natalie is such an inspiration to so many of our local young female runners - she has the perfect combination of grit & grace!

Kalajainen Klassic 5K/1 Mile walkers & runners‼️

All registered Kalajainen participants will receive a ticket for one free baby size flavored ice from Nina’s Italian Ice @ Cascade Park! Nina’s is a family owned local business located at the lower level park entrance. It is across from the pavilion where we will have the post race awards ceremony & picnic!

Nina’s will remain open after the race - so hold on to your tickets! Friends and families can also indulge in their favorite ice treats from Nina’s! You must check out their variety of flavors & for those who have an extra sweet tooth - add a scoop of vanilla to your flavored ice! Yum!!

Thank you Nina’s for taking care of our runners/walkers and helping them stay cool and beat the heat on race day!

🧡Did you know that each year We have several Jr High & High School athletes from the surrounding areas participate? Several run the 5K as a rust buster to kick start their Cross Country training season - others do it with their friends/family as a fun run and to support the American Cancer Society!

💜Our unique yet walker/runner friendly course is ideal for cross country runners since it involves transitioning on to different terrains such as maintained trail segments, road and park sections, and includes a variation of downhill grades. There is also a competitive component (for those who choose) since there are several runners within the age groups participating!

💜For those speedsters who want the ultimate phsyical & mental run test, you have the opportunity to compete and earn your spot on our Trophy of Champions!!! This spot is never Given - Always EARNED!

🧡Elementary Run Club Coaches/Runners, Cancer Survivors/ Cause Supporters and for those newer to running or who are starting back after a break, we offer the 1 Mile distance! I have organized a 1 Mile walk group that all are welcome to join! Message me for details and to be included in our free upcoming - 1 Mile meet and greet @ Cascade Park where we will get to know each other while walking the course!

💜Whatever your reason is - we have a range of ages, goals and fitness levels! Everyone is welcome!
