Beyond proud of Jairo!!!

At last night’s Board Meeting, we were proud to recognize RFHS sophomore student Jairo for an incredible cross country season!

This year, Jairo:

- Placed 4th of 61 runners at Conference
- Finished 12th of 80 at Sectionals
- Became the first male runner in Coach Erickson’s career at River Forest to advance to Regionals, placing 94th of 247
- Set a 5K PR of 17:25 during the season — then crushed it with a 16:52 at Nike Cross Regionals!
- Won the Kouts Invite and earned podium finishes at the Hammond and Hobart Invites
- Achieved First Team All-Conference for both athletic and academic excellence

He has also been putting in extra miles by training with Principal Mlynarcik’s son, Owen, who runs at the collegiate level, along with other area runners.

We are so proud of his dedication, leadership, and accomplishments. Way to represent RF, Jairo! ❤

Sectionals was today at Sunset Hill. Everyone did a great job today!
Hadyn and Jenny ran right on pace!
Rochelle got a PR!!
AND JAIRO MADE IT TO REGIONALS!!! Placing 12th overall!
XC is not done yet for the season!!!

Kouts invite today. A great showing for all the athletes! Once again Jairo proved he is a force to be reckoned with winning the meet! Ingot strong indeed!

Such a great group of student athletes. They are getting PRs left and right!
Jairo is dominating this season and has placed at every meet. Winning Westville invite, 2nd at Morton Invite, and 3rd at Hobart invite.

The season is on its way! Meet #2 was today. Great showing from the whole team! Standout sophomore Jairo placed in the top 10 at both meets!!

Wow! Jairo became the first Ingot to make it to middle school state! Of the 532 people in the race he got 250th! We so proud of you! The future of XC is bright at RF!

GSSC meet today. Liz got 16th overall in the conference. Sammy got a PR and Tyrell stayed consistent with last weeks PR. Now on to sectionals in two week…

Holy cow is all I can say! Jairo and Jenny from the middle school team came and ran the open race. They are used to running 3Ks so this really pushed them!
Sammy and Tyrell kept the momentum going at the HS race as well! Both getting season PRs. In fact Tyrell took his time from 29:45 (sectionals last year) to 26:11!!!
