people mourn wrestling programs after they die, not while they’re alive

Every time a program gets cut, the reaction is the same.
Outrage.
Nostalgia.
Long posts about tradition and culture.

But tradition doesn’t pay bills.

Most wrestling programs don’t die suddenly.
They are starved over time.

Empty stands.
Minimal donations.
Burned-out coaches holding everything together with duct tape.

Support is always loud after death.
It is quiet when it matters most.

People say they love wrestling, but love without action is just branding.

Buying tickets matters.
Showing up matters.
Donating before there’s a crisis matters.

You don’t save wrestling by grieving it publicly.
You save it by sustaining it privately, consistently, unglamorously.

If the only time you care is when the program is already gone,
you were never supporting wrestling.

You were just consuming it.

Huge shoutout to Addison for grinding out of season and still placing 6th at MYWAY States! That’s the kind of dedication...

She was so thrilled about taking this picture… can’t you tell? Pretty sure she was about two seconds from throwing a headlock on me for making her do it. Toughest 6th-place finisher in the building!
