I want to challenge all of you lovelies to take inventory of your daily habits. This is a judgement feee zone, just notice them. For example my mornings have typically looked like this:
Open eyes 〰️
Grab phone (check emails, FB, etc)❌
Toilet 〰️
Brush teeth 〰️
Turn on shower 〰️
Make bed ✅
Take shower〰️
Makeup application (maybe)〰️
Fix hair (most times)〰️
Feed cats〰️
Make coffee〰️
Sit on patio✅
Drink coffee〰️
Confirm appointments for the day〰️
Breathe✅
This all happens typically by 8/9am.
While this has been an improvement to my get up and get out of the house within 30 minutes of waking up. I wanted some changes. So I first needed to acknowledge if my habits were positive, negative, or neutral for my overall well-being. So, next to each item I gave a 〰️ for neutral, ❌ for negative, and ✅ for positive for the goal of improved wellbeing I was trying to create. Once I was able to recognize what was not serving the positive change I wanted to make in my life, I could insert a change (me habit).
We could argue semantics over what is positive, negative, and neutral...keep in mind it is personal so it will likely not be the same for you.
What I am doing is creating intention. I am removing the autopilot component in life by first creating awareness of my behaviors. I can then shift those behaviors to be more adaptable to the change I desire.
My ❌ next to grabbing my phone isn’t a bad thing but for me, at that time it can become a barrier for other things I want to include in my life. It is really easy to get sucked into technology before I’ve even taken an intentional breath. This week I’ve replaced that ❌ with walking while listening to an audiobook. I attend to any important emails at the start of that walk and then allow myself some time for me to breathe and move.
You guys...this was just my inventory up to 9am!!! It is incredible how our habits, even intentional ones, move us closer to or further away from our goals.
So, it is time for you to take action!! Thoughts and comments welcome.
✨✨Remember, EM laser session on Friday. Get your question on the spreadsheet.
Be intentional today!!
