New Brunswick Bike Exchange

New Brunswick Bike Exchange Non-profit volunteer based bicycle shop selling refurbished bicycles. Proceeds are donated to PRAB, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization. We accept CASH only.

The New Brunswick Bike Exchange is an all-volunteer organization that sells used, donated bikes that have been refurbished by volunteer mechanics. Whether for commuting, fitness or recreation, our mission is to increase access to bicycling, especially for those who cannot afford a bicycle at retail price. Our efforts support access to transportation and promote a healthy and active lifestyle, all

while preventing used bicycles from ending up in landfills. How the New Brunswick Bike Exchange works:
We accept donations of bikes (we’ll also accept bike parts, bike accessories, bike tools, and helmets), our volunteers refurbish them, and we then offer them for sale back to the community at a fraction of their original cost. For example, the typical suggested donation for an adult bike is around $40 to $100. Proceeds help fund the community service programs of PRAB. See their website via the link on our home page to learn about all that they do for our community. Unless otherwise noted, the bikes will be fully operational and safe to ride, but they may be cosmetically challenged with scratches, dings, surface rust, faded paint, nicks/cuts on the saddle, damaged/missing decals or headbadges, etc. We’ll address any mechanical issues that we may have missed within 30 days of purchase but we do not cover parts that are subject to wear or road hazards, such as tires and inner tubes. We do not sell bike parts, do repairs, or offer maintenance services. For such things, we encourage you to support our local bike shop small business owners such as Bike N Gear in Somerset, Kim's Bikes in New Brunswick, and the Local Bike Shop in Highland Park.

... has posted an admittedly not-too-engaging post about the bike school. It does show some of the specialty assemblies we use, and explains why the class bikes aren't rideable, and there's stuff about what we learned on the eighth day of class. You'll be forgiven for skipping this one.
