There aren’t sufficient words to describe the immense joy this photo brings me. The pride and the love I have for these four wonderful people is beyond belief. I cherish all the students I have ever had, including ones who only took one class with me, but these four have been my core since day one and with the exception of my wife, they have been my biggest supporters and my loudest cheerleaders. I love all four of them and there isn’t anything in the world I wouldn’t do for them that wasn’t in my power to do.

Countless things can happen when real violence occurs. You might find yourself inside an attacker’s “side control” position. It’s not the easiest of positions to defend so we teach “strategic compliance” - comply and submit just long enough to lull your attacker into a false sense of domination, then
when they move to mount, or bring their head down, or as soon as you get ANY kind of opportunity, get on those primaries, turn their face into paint and turn the predator into the prey.
