Renny's Creek, 6/6/26. 6 members spent 2 1/2 hrs exploring Renny's, then paddled across the Neuse, explored the osprey nests and cypress knees on the far banks, then back across the Neuse to Hatteras Canal and Swamp. Plenty of birds, jumping mullet, alligator gar, and cownose ray kept us company. Another relaxed, scenic day on the water.

It was a fun day partnering with Crystal Coast Kayak Community at Pollocksville. 16 combined members spent about 3 hours on the Trent River. Hot temps but a little breeze helped us on the way home. Thank you Ginger Motes and George Morcom for co-leading, and thank you Susan Teter Johnson for the pictures.

River Bend loop 11/15/25. 12 members spent a very pleasant couple hours making the loop from River Bend to the Trent to Rocky Run Creek and back. The water was very low, but we were able to make it down all the cut-throughs without bottoming out. We saw eagles, hawks, herons, kingfishers, and lots of songbirds and woodpeckers. And there is still pretty color in the trees. Thanks to all who support these trips and enjoy getting out on the water.

Pollocksville paddle 10/25/25. A beautiful day on the Trent with 14 members, comfortable temps and blue skies. We found some pretty colors and the water was surprisingly clear. Life is good, time on the water with friends makes it even better.
