South End, want to meet one of our most electric rising stars?!
Join all of us here at S.E.Y.A.A. in celebrating and recognizing Aaron "AJ" Simuel from our Rookie Orioles on an extraordinary first season here down the South End!
"Humble, gracious, hard-working, kind, honest, great-teammate, focused" are all adjectives that were shared by coaches, teammates, fans & friends to describe the Black & Orange's dynamic newcomer. Shortly turning 8 years old this Summer, AJ has been turning heads from the moment he stepped foot on the north side of Coral Street.
AJ boasts superb power at the plate, and his slugging numbers are off the charts. This past week, AJ went 4-5 at the plate, a triple shy of hitting for the cycle, all topped by a majestic 3-run blast that cleared the center field fence by nearly 25 feet. MAJESTIC.
With 8 homeruns in the 2026 campaign, AJ's run of form is getting noticed! As he chases the record books, AJ looks locked-in and focused each and every plate appearance and opportunity in the field.
Orioles Manager Larry Larson shared: "AJ has been sensational! Wow, this kid has impressed right from the start. However, most important to our success has been AJ's coachability. You offer instruction and tweaks, and AJ simply owns it. This last week, watching AJ recognize force plays and tag plays, it's fun to watch the decision-making take place and then be successful!!"
