Established in 1986, we offer year round instruction in classical ballet.The faculty at New Bedford Ballet consists of talented and dedicated professionals with years of experience in teaching, choreography and performing. New Bedford Ballet offers a high level of technical training and performance opportunities, and develops students' artistic and technical abilities to their fullest potential. S

ome New Bedford Ballet students will pursue a career in dance, but equally important, all students will acquire a life-long appreciation of the arts and arts education. Through its carefully developed curriculum and established policies, the students are guaranteed a positive and professional atmosphere.

Registration for the 2026/2027 academic year is open! Whether your child is taking their very first ballet class or you’re an experienced dancer looking to return to the studio, New Bedford Ballet welcomes students ages 3 through adult.

Register in person and order dance wear on August 18th and 19th 4-7pm.

🎇The New Bedford Ballet will culminate its summer season with four performances of An Evening of Dance, an innovative blend of classical and contemporary choreography.

The Nightingale is a children’s ballet created by New Bedford Ballet’s artistic director Rebecca Waskiel-Marchesseault, with choreography by Ms. Waskiel-Marchesseault, Charis Hall, and Jenna Torgeson.Inspired by Hans Christian Andersen’s The Nightingale, this children’s ballet will bring smiles to young and old as the audience is reminded that the ability to share one’s gifts is a freedom that should never be taken away.

Original contemporary choreography by New Bedford Ballet advanced students and classical and contemporary dance pieces choreographed by New Bedford Ballet instructors Sara Brownell and Charis Hall will also be included in this artistic collage of dance styles.

Did you know that New Bedford Ballet participates in the Mass Cultural Council’s Card to Culture in collaboration with the Mass Dept. of Transitional Assistance? EBT cardholders are offered one $5 general-admission ticket per card for NBB’s March, June, August, and Nutcracker performances. For the June performance of A Midsummer Night’s Dream, they must be purchased at the Zeiterion box office, which is open Wed-Sat 12-6pm. Tickets are limited and may be purchased in advance or the day of the performance. The Z will waive all fees.
