History was made yesterday.

The NBRA - Mississippi District successfully hosted the very first official NBRA event, marking an important milestone for the National Breakaway Roping Association and the growth of breakaway roping across the country.

We're proud of the Mississippi team, their volunteers, sponsors, contestants, and everyone who helped make this event possible. Building something new takes hard work, and we're excited to see what the future holds for breakaway ropers throughout Mississippi and beyond.

And the momentum continues tomorrow as the NBRA - Michigan hosts its very first NBRA event. NBRA Notice: Each NBRA district operates independently at the local level. While all districts follow the same NBRA rules, classifications, points structure, and sanctioning requirements, every event will naturally have its own unique feel based on factors such as the arena, stock contractor, producer, officials, photographers, sponsors, and local leadership. Our goal is to provide a consistent competitive framework nationwide while allowing districts the flexibility to showcase the strengths of their local breakaway roping community.

🚨 MORE OPPORTUNITIES. MORE POINTS. MORE FINALS. 🚨

The NBRA is continuing to grow and improve, and we're excited to announce an important update that gives our members even more opportunities to compete and earn points.

Members are no longer limited to earning points in only one district.

You can now compete in ANY NBRA Official Event, in ANY district, and earn points in that district while also earning National Points at the same time.

More districts are coming soon!

What does that mean?

✅ Rope in multiple districts.

✅ Earn points in multiple districts.

✅ Qualify for multiple District Finals.

✅ Qualify for multiple State Finals.

✅ Earn National Points at every event you attend.

✅ More opportunities to compete for money, prizes, buckles, awards, and championships.

This is especially beneficial for ropers who spend part of the year in one state and part of the year in another. Whether you winter in Florida and summer in Michigan, travel for work, or simply enjoy competing across state lines, you'll now have the opportunity to build points wherever you compete.

Our goal has always been simple:

Provide fair, consistent, structured opportunities for breakaway ropers of all ages while creating more places to rope and more opportunities to win.

We're building a system that rewards participation, encourages travel, supports district growth, and gives members more value for their membership.

The future of the NBRA is bright, and we're just getting started.

👀LOOK AT THAT EVENTS LIST GROWING 👀

A couple of months ago, the NBRA existed only on paper.

Today, sanctioned events are on the calendar in multiple states, district pages are active across the country, memberships are growing, and our first points races are about to begin.

The calendar below is filling up, and more events are already being submitted for approval.

If you've been watching from the sidelines, now is the time to jump in. Grab your membership, find a district, and be part of building the future of breakaway roping.

🔥 THE FIRST OFFICIAL NBRA EVENTS HAVE NOW BEEN ADDED 🔥

The countdown is officially on.

The very first sanctioned NBRA event is now listed for June 13th in Mississippi, officially kicking off the inaugural NBRA points race season nationwide. 🇺🇸

Michigan will follow just two days later on June 15th — with additional sanctioned Michigan events already scheduled for the following consecutive weekends as well.

👉 Event details can now be found in the Events tab on the website.
👉 Pre-entries will begin opening soon.
👉 Memberships are now active for competitors wanting to enter and compete for points.

A few important things to know:

✔️ Anyone can enter events regardless of what state or district they live in.
✔️ Competitors may choose ONE state to earn state points in.
✔️ National points can be earned at ANY sanctioned NBRA event attended across the country.

More districts are currently preparing to begin adding events to the map very soon, so keep checking the Events tab regularly for new ropings near you.
