โญ FEATURE FRIDAY SPOTLIGHT โญ

This week weโ€™re celebrating Randy Jordan from our Fitness Center team! ๐Ÿ’ช๐Ÿ‘

For 17 years, Randy has been a familiar and encouraging face at the YMCA, helping members along their health and wellness journeys and building meaningful connections with everyone he meets.

Randy shared that the YMCA represents family, community, and purpose, and he values having a place where youth and adults can gather together with strong morals and support. Outside of the Y, he enjoys collecting political memorabilia, has a lifelong love for golf, and once considered himself quite the runner! ๐Ÿƒโ€โ™‚๏ธ

Thank you, Randy, for your years of dedication, positivity, and the impact you continue to make on our YMCA family every day!

๐Ÿš—๐Ÿฅ• Grocery Grab Update ๐Ÿฅ•๐Ÿš—

As we kick off another Grocery Grab season, we want to provide a quick update and set expectations moving forward.

First, thank you to our incredible staff, volunteers, and community partners who make this program possible. This week alone, our team prepared and distributed groceries for local families here in Nevada while also putting together 120 grocery bags for Butler. There is a tremendous amount of work happening behind the scenes, and we are grateful for everyone who helps make it happen.

๐Ÿงก We ask for grace during these first few weeks. Grocery Grab is a large operation, and the beginning of the season is always a period of adjustment as we learn attendance numbers, improve traffic flow, and make changes that help us better serve families.

๐Ÿšซ Beginning next week, vehicles may not line up before 4:00 PM.
While distribution begins at 4:30 PM, we allowed vehicles to begin lining up around 2:00 PM this week. We quickly learned that this creates traffic and safety concerns for our facility, neighboring businesses, and volunteers.

๐Ÿ“ The line will begin at the cones on the north side of the Early Learning Center building. Please follow all traffic signs and instructions from staff and volunteers.

๐Ÿฅ› Please understand that we may run out of groceries, especially during the first few weeks.
We start the season with a set number of grocery bags based on projected participation. As we see attendance grow, we work to increase the number of bags available each week. Our goal is always to serve as many families as possible, but demand may exceed supply as we establish participation numbers.

โค๏ธ We are incredibly thankful for the opportunity to provide this FREE program to surrounding area families. Every week, we learn, adjust, and grow so we can continue serving more children and families throughout the summer.

Thank you for your patience, understanding, and support as we work together to make Grocery Grab successful for our community. ๐Ÿ’™๐Ÿ’š

Please help us by sharing this information so everyone knows what to expect before next weekโ€™s distribution.

๐Ÿฅ• Grocery Grab is Back! ๐Ÿฅ›

Weโ€™re excited to serve families this summer! Please help us keep distribution safe and efficient by remembering:

โœ… Distribution is first come, first served. Due to overwhelming demand, groceries may run out during the first week. Thank you for your patience as we work to serve as many families as possible.

๐Ÿš— Do not arrive before 3:00 PM. Early arrivals create traffic and safety concerns and may be asked to return later.

๐Ÿ“ Follow the posted traffic flow map.

๐Ÿ“ฑ Have your QR code ready and all participating children in the vehicle. Groceries can only be distributed for eligible children present at pickup.

๐Ÿฅ› All groceries, including milk, must be accepted. Partial distributions are not allowed.

๐Ÿš™ Make sure you have enough vehicle space. Each child will receive one grocery bag and one gallon of milk.

Thank you for helping make Grocery Grab a success. We look forward to serving your family this summer!

๐Ÿš—๐Ÿฅ• Grocery Grab Starts Today! ๐Ÿฅ•๐Ÿš—

Today marks the start of our Summer Grocery Grab program at the YMCA!

Each Thursday from 4:30โ€“6:30 PM through August 20, 2026, families will be driving through our parking lot and stopping near the front entrance to pick up groceries.

As a result, you may notice increased traffic and limited front parking during these times. We appreciate your patience and understanding as we work to provide healthy food access to local children and families throughout the summer.

Thank you for supporting this important community program!

Carolyn joined the YMCA in 2026 to get ready for a cruise celebrating her 80th birthday. She began with just one class three times a week, but quickly discovered so much more than exercise.

โ€œThe Y has changed my perspective on life,โ€ Carolyn says. I now have somewhere to go, people to see, and things to look forward to

Since joining, Carolyn has made new friends, become more active in the community, and now enjoys attending two classes three times week. Her YMCA days have become some of the highlights of her week!

We are so thankful Carolyn is part of our YMCA family.
