I hear people saying “they better not mess with me, I’ve got a gun”
Then when you start asking them questions it’s obvious that they don’t even know how to use it.
Do you even know what kind of gun you have?
Do you carry it on your person at all times? Owning a seatbelt but not having it on during a wreck will not do you any good.
Do you even know if a round is in the chamber right now?
When’s the last time you even shot the gun that you expect to save your life?
Can you shoot that gun? I don’t mean can you hold it in your hand, pull the trigger & make it go bang. I mean are you proficient enough to draw that gun under stress in a life or death situation and fire multiple shots accurately from 9-15ft in 2 or 3 seconds?
That’s the average time & distance of most self defense shootings.
If the answer is yes, how do you know? When’s the last time you tried?
Most people have a false sense of security.
It’s like getting in shape. Nobody can do it for you. There are so many options to get better but you’ve got to get off your butt and put the work in.
Or you can just hope it never happens to you or your loved ones.
