Anyone interested in a free week in Finland? ๐ซ๐ฎ ๐๐พ
The happiest country on Earth just offered to fly strangers in for a free week to teach them how to be happy.
Meanwhile America is out here with a 100% debt-to-GDP ratio and a 3.6% savings rate. We might need more than a week.
Finland has now ranked #1 on the World Happiness Report NINE consecutive years. Not a fluke. Not good PR. Nine straight years of data saying the same thing.
And their recipe isn't what most Americans would expect.
No productivity hacks. No hustle culture. No net worth benchmarks. Their version of happiness looks like waking up without an alarm, spending time in a sauna, swimming in a lake, walking in the forest, and genuinely disconnecting from screens.
I've spent 20+ years as a CFPยฎ helping people build wealth. And I'll be honest with you: the financial piece matters. A lot. Debt stress is real. Not having savings is real. The correlation between financial security and happiness is well documented.
But Finland isn't rich because they're happy. And they're not happy because they're rich. They've built a society where the baseline stress level is just... lower.
The U.S. ranked 23rd. With a score of 6.81 out of 10. In a country with the largest economy on the planet.
iykyk that something isn't adding up there.
Maybe the free trip isn't the point. Maybe the point is that the happiest people on Earth are trying to tell us something and we're too busy scrolling to hear it.
