🔥RAFFLE🔥

https://www.heathcreekforge.com/knives/vintage-micarta-chef-raffle

This Chef’s knife is being raffled off over on my website right now! This is my favorite way to make knives available because you can get it for just $10. Lots of people seem to say they are not lucky or they never win anything so I will give you a tip to help your odds. The people that have the best luck are consistent in my raffles. Time and time again I see their name pop up and those are the names I find myself drawing more than anything else.

My appreciation for each and every one of you all who enter my raffle is hard to put into words. Without the support of you guys these would not be possible. Thank you all!

Had an awesome day doing some “product testing”!

04/30/2026

Had an awesome day in the shop with some great friends. In this clip we were checking out some hammers that Mike McLaughlin had just made. One hammer found its forever home in my shop and 4 others found their forever home as well!

Later in the day we made a couple hammers under the instruction of Mike and had some quality time catching up. Excellent day was had by all and it was topped off by a tasty fish fry.

Good friends don’t come along every day and I’m a lucky guy to have many of them.

Completed this Tadpole last week. I made a segmented handle for it out of some pieces I had laying around that were to small to use on their own. From the front to the back of the handle goes as follows, Blue Maple Burl, Turquoise Trustone, and red Micarta, it also has Black Canvas Micarta liners with copper pins. The blade has been blackened and stone washed to help with corrosion resistance.

I have found that this design is great to carry in many different ways. The most popular is inside the pocket in a leather sheath with a pocket clip. A close second is carried on the belt in a pancake sheath or a horizontal carry style.

I will be posting a few more variations of this knife in the coming days. I made a batch of them last week and would like to show them to you guys!

My Blacksmithing Mentor Don Nichols had this sign hanging in his shop. He reminded me frequently that this was his favorite saying that was taught to him by his grandmother. He would say it in its entirety followed by good chuckle, then he would say something to the fact of “Just can’t make us happy.”

This simple sign brings many feelings to me. One of the big ones is my appreciation of the time we shared together over the years. Another thing that instantly comes to mind is that he had wisdom running out of his ears… but were my ears listening when he decided to share it? Well all I will say is that it got better over time as I realized the value in it.

Make time for those special people in your life. Their significance will be amplified when they are gone.
