To all our wonderful FB followers this is a hard post to write. Buck Hollow Ranch has for the last ten years, produced a superior whitetail deer herd and has offered hunters opportunities to take that trophy of a lifetime. We have provided many free hunts to our disabled veterans and children with serious disabilities or illnesses. We have enjoyed posting hundreds of pictures on our FB page and our web site for the enjoyment of our followers.
But now the powers that be in our State Government has decided that operations like Buck Hollow Ranch are detrimental to the wild deer herd. Science has been ignored and regulatory decisions have been made based on political and personal agendas. I am referring to the regulations being put in place that they say will prevent the spread of CWD. We have tested hundreds of deer from our ranch and have never had a positive test. The regulations say I must double fence the property at an expense of approx $85-100 thousand dollars. I cannot afford to do this. So I have made the difficult decision to close Buck Hollow Ranch. To all our followers and clients, Thank You for your support and well wishes.
Now I know there are folks out there that think all deer farms should be shut down. That’s ok. I just wish you could become better informed on the truth about CWD. Just a heads up. I will not engage in a debate on this page.
