This week, the Neenah High School Fishing Team had the opportunity to host members of Camp T from the Neenah-Menasha YMCA Summer Day Camp, ages 7 to 12, for another great week of fishing!
With the recent storms changing water conditions, we were not able to fish some of the spots we have used in previous years. Instead, we spent Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday fishing at the Neenah Dam, where the campers had a great time learning and catching fish!
We had one of our highest attendance numbers yet with more than 50 campers joining us each day. The best part was that every camper was able to catch a fish during the week. Our coaches and high school anglers helped teach the kids how to bait hooks, different ways to catch fish at the dam, safely remove fish from the hook, properly hold their catch, and take a picture to remember it!
A huge thank you to Coach Sonnabend, Coach Jones, and Coach Dorschner for volunteering their time all week. We’d also like to thank our high school helpers Brock, Noah, Parker, and Blake for doing an outstanding job working with the campers and helping make this week such a success!
We had an awesome week with the YMCA campers and loved seeing so many young anglers catch fish! We are already looking forward to doing it again next year! 🎣
Go Rockets!
