🏆 Congratulations, Cam! 🏆

This week, Cam stepped outside of her comfort zone and joined our adult Jiu-Jitsu classes to get in some extra training before her very first tournament.

That takes courage.

It’s never easy to walk into a new room, train with older teammates, and embrace the challenge…but that’s exactly how we grow.

This weekend, all of that hard work paid off as Cam earned 🥇 1st Place in a higher division (nobody at her rank registered), including multiple wins over a competitor with more experience.

We’re incredibly proud of the confidence, coachability, and determination she showed all week long. The medal is exciting, but seeing a young athlete choose growth over comfort is what we’re celebrating most.

Champions aren’t built in a single tournament; they’re built one courageous decision at a time. 💙🥋

A good academy teaches technique; a great academy stays connected to teachers.

One of the things we value most at Fortitude is that we’re never learning in isolation. We have coaches who mentor us, teammates from other academies who challenge us, and a larger Team Vaghi family that keeps us growing.

That’s why workshops like today’s matter.

Thank you to Coach Bill for sharing his knowledge, answering questions, and continuing to help shape not just our jiu-jitsu, but the culture we’re building on our mats.

Every time we come together, everyone gets a little better.

That’s the power of community. 🤙

Huge congratulations to Coach Troy on an outstanding performance today, battling all the way to the finals against a tough division. As a blue belt, he ultimately fell to a brown belt by heel hook, but that result doesn’t begin to tell the whole story.

Competing takes courage. It puts your preparation, your mindset, and your ability to adapt on display in a way few experiences can.

What we’re most proud of isn’t the podium finish; it’s the willingness to keep stepping into difficult situations in pursuit of growth.

Thank you to Joel for spending the day coaching from the corner. Behind every great competitor is someone willing to invest their time, energy, and belief in them.

That’s what teammates do. We’re proud of you Troy! 👏💪

Congratulations to our Youth BJJ students on a job well done at testing today! We awarded stripes, belts, and most importantly…knowledge.

We invite all of our students to participate in test day, even if they’re not quite ready for their next rank, to give them the opportunity to see their progress and learn.

As Coach .ellenbecker shared today— it’s not the belt that is most important, but the wisdom, reps, and skill it took to earn it. 🥋

Big congratulations to our kids who earned a stripe or belt at last week’s test! 🎉

Stripe testing isn’t just about showing techniques…it’s about effort, consistency, courage, and the willingness to keep trying even when something feels hard. Every stripe represents growth we can see, and growth that happens quietly along the way.

As we move through the rest of the holiday season, we’re shifting into one of our favorite phases of the Youth BJJ curriculum— “fun” weeks! High-energy, skill-building classes that lean into movement, creativity, confidence, and having fun on the mats. This is a time for kids to explore, sharpen fundamentals, and enjoy training without pressure as we build toward the next stripe/belt testing cycle.

We’re so proud of this group and excited for what’s ahead. Keep showing up, keep playing, keep learning—and keep being great teammates. 💙🥋

🔥 Huge Congratulations to Our Competitors! 🔥

This weekend, Aly, Trinity, Ava, and Ricky stepped onto the mats at Grappling Industries and represented Team Vaghi, Team Vaghi Northern Region, and Fortitude with grit, heart, and pride.

🥇 Aly and Trinity dominated — taking GOLD in both Gi and No-Gi!

They trained hard, stayed focused, and showed incredible skill and composure. We are so proud of their performance and leadership.

💪 Ava and Ricky battled through some tough matches and came away with huge growth and valuable experience.

Stepping out there takes courage, and they represented our team with honor from start to finish.
