WHOA is very excited to offer a summer officiating experience opportunity June 21-22 in Chippewa Falls in conjunction with the girls WAHA camp. Our event is open to all female officials 14+ who are looking to improve their skills. This is a flexible weekend which means you can commit to coming one or both days unlike some of our other camps. The weekend will consist of mini games on Saturday and full games on Sunday, all of which will have officiating coaches observing to provide feedback. Games may be officiated in int 2,3, or 4 official systems depending on skill level. There will also be opportunities to meet and learn from experienced female officials from across the state. For who officials who participate in both days, lodging will be provided at UWEC dorms in partnership with WAHA. A lunch each day will also be provided through the camp’s partnership with UWEC. Any official 17 years old and older will need to have completed SafeSport training as well. If you are interested in attending, please fill out the attached form by June 11th. WHOA is pleased to announce the offering of TWO $1,500 scholarships intended to encourage high school/college aged students who are current WHOA members to continue their USA Hockey officiating career while pursuing a post-secondary education or enlisted for active duty in the military.

The Scholastic Scholarship will be awarded to a graduating high school student or college student. The Glen Bostedt Foundation Scholarship will be awarded to a student pursuing post-secondary education or serving in the military.

The Glen Bostedt scholarship is named in honor of the late Glen Bostedt, a long-time Dane County Hockey Officials Association (DCHOA), WHOA, and USA Hockey volunteer who spent countless hours training and mentoring young ice hockey officials throughout Wisconsin. This scholarship has previously been granted by DCHOA and has now been transferred to WHOA to continue honoring Bostedt's legacy. The deadline for submitting the scholarship application is June 1, 2025.

Thanks to the crews working in all state tournaments. It was a great weekend in Appleton. There was a couple overtimes and one shootout.

In Appleton, Fox Valley is hosting the Bantam 1A state tournament where some officials get the opportunity to use the 4 official system. Running this system allows some up and coming high school age officials to get experience in an intense environment with the goal being to put the best system on the ice while getting younger officials excited about higher level officiating.
