We are incredibly grateful that our RMM friends and their fellow campers at Nevados de Chillán escaped the fire safely.
Many fled with only the clothes they were wearing—some in bathing suits and slippers—and lost their ski equipment, clothing, medications, wallets, passports, and other personal belongings.
The U.S. Embassy has been assisting those who lost their passports, but the group still faces significant logistical challenges as they work to return home.
We know the Rocky Mountain Masters community will rally around our friends and fellow racers as they navigate the difficult days ahead. They may have lost their gear, but not their lives or their spirit.
For those who would like to help, a GoFundMe has been established for the 40 Masters racers, coaches, and traveling companions affected by the fire:

Please keep the entire group in your thoughts and share the fundraiser if you are able. Above all, we are deeply relieved that everyone is safe and look forward to welcoming our fellow racers home.
