Please join us in celebrating Becky Johnson, our August Wavemaker Award winner!
Becky’s YMCA story actually started as a teenager, when she volunteered at YMCAs in several different states. Today, she loves being part of the behind the scenes team that keeps our Y running smoothly and especially enjoys getting to know the members she sees regularly.
What Becky loves most about the Y is that everyone is welcome. One of her favorite examples of our YMCA community was during construction when a water leak flooded the wellness floor. Staff and members immediately jumped in together to help, a moment that made her especially proud to be part of the Y.
Outside of work, Becky enjoys spending time with her husband and two kids, reading, farmers markets, hiking, gardening, and watching tennis and hockey. She also spent years homeschooling her teenagers and is now looking forward to discovering some new adventures of her own.
Congratulations, Becky! We appreciate the pride you take in your work, the care you show our members, and everything you do to make our Y a better place!
