I’m bringing them all back and more!
I won’t be blackmailed.
So we just cover all bases with a new domain I purchased years ago.
The name tells the story at the same time.
These flashing, dashing mirrored stainless steel blades have been sold and used with success in 29 countries prior to and through the pandemic. Norway was my last country before I got knocked down by cancer, then kidneys were killed off from the type of chemotherapy.
It all came down in a crashing end when everything failed. They brought me back three times before getting me hooked up to dialysis at the end of Spring.
Two friends from down the road came to my place to buy some teasers and made a deal for me to have one more trip on the Gulf of Mexico.
The coincidence of 8 years ago while going to my son’s wedding and staying with a new friend in Pensacola right before being diagnosed, was quite simply a miracle for both.
8 years ago I gave a Rippin Hoo and Hellraiser to my new friend Karl. He had a 20’ cc Cape Horn which coincidentally I personally built its interior back in the 90’s. I took him offshore for his first time. I brought several Poseidon Australia Lures with us given to me by its owner Chris Tsalamongos. Karl had three 1970’s Penn International bottom fishing reels and rods.
We made due. I ran us towards the Alabama line outside Orange Beach with just a topographical image in my head. No numbers, just what I thought would be there. Once we got to 350’ deep I turned South to 450’ then 750’. The ‘Steps’ is what I called it. I set the teasers out and our three lures. Trolling at 9 knots North to South and back, we got hit. Karl got his first nice mahi.
Reset and did it again. A second strike and hookup on the second reel. Boated Karls first big wahoo. Reset, started getting choppy but just minutes later the third reel went off! This wasn’t just a fish! I had Karl up front and I chased whatever we hooked up. I kept thinking sailfish. Gotta be. It wouldn’t jump and was still 100 yards off. Then it jumped and the holler from me was automatic, MARLIN!!!
Karl got his white marlin that day. Another first and a Grand Slam to boot. How many of us has had a first day like that?
8 years later these two new friends took me out and to make a long story short, mahi, small, big barracuda and another white marlin!
Just weeks later my lights went out. Fortunate it didn’t happen offshore or I Wouldn’t be writing this today.
So dialysis is part of my life unless I find a kidney donor. No list will take me.
But as far as my passion in life, that hasn’t changed at all.
So my youngest son got involved and we’re bringing everything back. Send in your old pictures, videos, teasers related please as we want to acknowledge those who have been there throughout.
Thanks for believing in my out of the box thinking since 1997.
I’m still thinking. No box in sight except the fish box!
Tease em up
