Vintage military gear makes up the bulk of the components I use, due to its durability and the over-abundance of surplus that collects dust in warehouses all over the world, but I am always looking for new creative ways to recycle. My workshop is a custom-built shed in the backyard of my San Diego home, that is incorporated into my sustainable garden. All of my products are designed and made in th
e workshop, and I take great care to use eco-friendly processes throughout every stage of production. Reclamation Dept has changed ownership twice since it was first started in 2010. It was originally founded by my dear friends Mychelle Fly and Ben Pitts who had taken my sister Casey on as an intern. In 2013 Mychelle and Ben decided to travel the world and pursue different creative ventures, so they passed the torch onto Casey and me. The 3 years I spent running the shop with my sister was absolutely wonderful, and I am so grateful that we got to spend so much time together before she started her family. In 2017 Casey left Reclamation Dept and I took the operation with me to San Diego.
