Cardenas School of Modern Arnis and Arnis de Mano ARNIS - Filipino Martial Arts Arnis is a sport that employs either bladed weapons, lances, staff, cane or empty hands for both defense and offense.

Experienced martial art artists can see the elements of Karate, Kung-Fu, Jiu-Jitsu, Akido, and Kendo in the art of MODERN ARNIS. To the spectator ARNIS is as fascinating as European Fencing. Body maneuverability and the lighting speed needed in wielding the ARNIS sticks requires movement that is twice as fast as Karate or Kung-Fu.

On September 8th, Ricardo submitted himself for his Belt Test, he applied himself and successfully passed his test, earning him his Red Belt. At 72 years young, and having experienced heart surgery, to say that Ricardo is an inspiration to everyone in the 3 PM class would be an understatement. Any age is a good age to start and train Arnis, and Ricardo proves it. Great Grandmaster Joe and all of Ricardo's instructors are very proud of him for achieving his new promotion. Congratulations Ricardo!
