Weekly weightlifting sweet spot may be linked to longer life ⤵️

Doing a moderate amount of resistance training was linked with a lower risk of death, according to study results.

This outcome persisted even after researchers adjusted for other factors like age, smoking, diet quality, alcohol intake, family history and aerobic activity.

The recommendation is working at about 60% to 80% of capacity, pushing to a point of fatigue with moderate intensity— something that can be best achieved with the support of trainer.

Research suggests 90 to 119 minutes per week of resistance training is linked to a 13% lower risk of all-cause death and 19% lower heart disease risk.

“I joined Physical Ed's a few months ago and it has truly exceeded my expectations!

Ed is a true professional—his knowledge of lifting and training technique is unlike anything I've experienced, and he prioritizes safety and proper form above everything else.

As a middle-aged woman just learning to formally strength train, this has made all the difference.

He checks in often, both in and out of the gym, without being overbearing. That's a level of attention you don't get even at pricier gyms. It’s a genuinely high-touch experience.

The gym is impeccably clean and well maintained. And the other gym members are a wonderful, welcoming, and supportive community.

It’s no wonder Ed’s clients stay with him for decades. I can't recommend Physical Ed's enough!”

“I’ve had a great experience at Physical Ed’s Fitness in Natick.

The gym is open 365 days a year, with long hours from early morning to evening. That flexibility allows me to work out whenever I have an opportunity, which has made it much easier to stay consistent and stay on track with my fitness goals.

The facility is clean, neat, and very well maintained, including the bathrooms, which are always spotless. The gym also has excellent equipment and everything needed for an effective workout.

Ed, the owner and trainer, is extremely knowledgeable and supportive. He created a personalized training plan that fits my goals and schedule, and I’ve already started seeing positive results.

He explains exercises clearly, pays close attention to form, and genuinely cares about helping his clients succeed. His guidance makes it easy to train with confidence and make steady progress.

The people at the gym are friendly, welcoming, and supportive, creating a positive community that makes working out enjoyable.

I highly recommend Physical Ed’s Fitness to anyone looking for expert coaching, great equipment, a clean facility, and a motivating environment.”

A newly identified muscle protein may help explain why people who stay active as they age often remain stronger and healthier for longer, according to new research ⤵️

Scientists found that a protein called NOX4 naturally declines with age and inactivity. As levels dropped, they observed signs of frailty, muscle loss, insulin resistance and liver disease in the research.

👉 The researchers also found that exercise helped restore NOX4 levels.

Exercise seems to activate biological signaling pathways that help the body adapt, repair and become more resilient over time.

💥 The benefits of regular exercise are endless, and NOW is the time to start personal training with a customized workout plan. Reach out to schedule your free consultation!

This one exercise habit may help you live longer and slash dementia…

Researchers from the Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health found that people who engaged in moderate strength training had a lower risk of dying from several major causes, including heart disease and neurological disease.

The conversation around longevity often focuses on living longer, but more importantly is maintaining the strength, mobility, independence, and vitality to fully participate in life as we age.

Resistance training helps preserve muscle mass and bone density, improves balance and supports overall physical function as people get older.

💥 If you needed one more reason to start personal training with a customized workout plan—this is it!
