As many of you know, my husband and I were in a near deadly car crash in July of 2022, just a few months after leasing a farm to pursue my goal of training horses and people.
This car accident resulted in many severe and now life lasting injuries, losing the farm, and being set back- but we were incredibly grateful to be alive.
I've kept Next Step Horse Training with the hopes of returning to doing what I love, my goal has always been to help horses and their owners/ riders/ drivers.
However, it's been over 3 years since the accident, and unfortunately my condition and the ongoing complications from a TBI (Traumatic Brain Injury) have not gotten better, instead worsening in some areas.
So, with a lot of sadness, it's time to close the book for Next Step Horse Training.
It's simply not safe for me to train horses, I cannot risk another concussion, or re- breaking my back. I know everyone here will understand this, and I so deeply appreciate everyone's patience and well wishes through this time ❤️
HOWEVER
I'm not done yet! For awhile I questioned "why did I live through this accident? Why did I beat a ton of odds and I'm walking, mostly functional, and living?" and with time I came to realize, it's because I have so much more I can give to this world. I've just been rerouted towards a new path.
Bodywork
My training was based off of proper biomechanics of the horse, harnessing and using that to create the best horse for their rider. I've taken that knowledge, done some schooling, a TON of study and research, and have crafted my own and unique bodywork program that works with the horses body as a whole (hooves, body, and teeth) and the natural biomechanics!
I am still going after my dreams- after all, if there's an issue with a horse, it's very commonly either a training problem, or a pain response.
I'm still helping horses.
I'm still helping riders.
Arguably in an even better way than before!
My bodywork has already helped SO many horses, including my own, and now it's time to change it from "doing it on the side" to "doing it as a career".
So, Next Step Equine Bodywork was forged from the fire and twisted steel of the past.
The logo is still a silhouette of Magic, I am still true to my goal of helping as many horses as I can, I am still doing what I love and what I'm good at.
Please go like my new page, "Next Step Equine Bodywork" and follow me in this new book, it may not be the first chapter, but its a big one!
